A single-colour palette allows for greater scope when using pattern, as illustrated here in this Dormy House headboard in Les Indiennes fabric and a coordinating bedspread from Lewis & Wood. Mix the scale of the designs and add co-ordinating accessories like the Brigitte Singh blind and Ursula Leach painting to unify the scheme.
Bedroom with feature wallpaper
Make a statement with a focus wall of beautiful wallpaper. This works particularly well behind a bed, as with this Golden Beech Leaves wallpaper by Loui Loui from House Couturier. The bed, whose autumn shades mirror the wallpaper, came from Savoir Beds and Sera lamp and shade from CTO Lighting.
Soft bedroom lighting
Create a relaxing atmosphere with soft lighting. This room uses a space-saving wall-mounted lamp with a decorative shade from Rogier Antiques. Feminine bedroom
For a feminine style, layer your bed with voile and lace. The impressive four-poster bed is from House of Fraser, set off by drapes from and a lace panel from Laura Ashley. The butterfly cushion is set against a duvet cover and pillowcases from Next.
Bedroom teaming browns with limes
Mix bitter chocolate with soft cream in a bedroom for a classic look that's freshened by splashes of lime. The dark wood bedstead and bedside chest of drawers from New Heights set the theme off nicely. Other chocolate notes are picked up in the brown throw from The White Company, while the lime accent colour comes from the curtains and cushions made from Jane Churchill fabric. Reflections from the mirror-fronted chest of drawers from Next add brightness to the room.
